AbleDisAbled

We are a group of people seeking to help others and ourselves. We meet as a group every Friday at Monsignor King Outreach Center from 4:30 to about 6 PM. The group members decide what they want to work on. Our first two goals have been:

1.      Advocating for people in Denton who need help.

2.      Developing some productive occupations.

We are supported by Our Daily Bread and  Woman's University’s School of Occupational Therapy. We have advocated with everyone from area agencies to legislators. We engage in crafts and other activities and are hoping to develop a line of recycled products to sell locally. We are advocates with varied experiences who come together to support each other.

One of our projects has been to collect the voices of people living with homelessness and or mental health needs in Denton County. Our photovoice project has been part of that effort. We are sharing those voices here on the photovoice page.

You are welcome to join us on any Friday. Feel free to browse the website and come back often as we are building the content!
